2 women smugglers arrest in Jagraon

100 intoxicating pills recovered, released from jail on bail, were going to be supplied. 

Jagraon: Women involved in the drug smuggling business in Jagraon, Punjab, started the drug smuggling business again after coming out of jail on bail. Police arrested the two accused women when both were going to sell the intoxicating pills. Police recovered 100 intoxicating pills from the accused and registered a case at Police Station Sidhwan Bet.

The accused have been identified as Simranjit Kaur, alias Seema, and Premo Bai, residents of Kholia Wala Pul Malasia Bajhan Sidhwan Bet. Giving information, ASI Lakhwinder Singh of Police Station Sidhwan Bet said that he was going towards village Giddavidi while patrolling with the police party. During this time, he got information that both the women who came out of jail on bail in the case of drug smuggling did not change their habits. The accused again started the business of drug smuggling and started supplying drugs in the surrounding areas.

At this time also, both the accused women have come out of their houses with drugs to sell and are coming from village Malasia Bajhan towards Kishanpura Chowk via Main GT Road Sidhwan Bet. After receiving the information, the police took immediate action, blocked the way, and caught the accused women. During this, the police recovered 100 drugs from the accused, registered a case at police station Sidhwan Bet, and arrested them.

The investigating officer said that earlier in 2023, a case of drug smuggling was also registered against the accused women in Sidhwan Bet. Due to this, both the accused women were lodged in jail. Some time ago, both the accused women had come out of jail on bail.
