Jalandhar: A speeding vehicle hit an Activa rider on the Nakodar Jalandhar Highway in Jalandhar. The Activa rider died in the incident. The deceased has been identified as Roop, a resident of Bashesharpur village of Lambra. The age of the deceased is about 45 years. The police of Lambra police station has taken the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem.
The deceased was returning home from work
According to the information received, the incident took place on Sunday night. The victim was returning to Bashesharpur village of Lambra, Jalandhar on his Activa. During this, when he started crossing the road in front of the Potato Research Center located on Jalandhar Nakodar Highway, he got hit by a vehicle. Due to this he was badly injured and later he succumbed to his injuries.
ASI Subhash, who reached the crime scene for investigation from Lambra, said “The incident was reported to the police by passersby. After which the Road Safety Force teams reached the spot first. After this, he was immediately brought to the nearby hospital with the help of the people. Where the doctors declared the Activa rider dead. After which the police took the body in their custody and sent it to Civil Hospital Jalandhar for postmortem.”
According to the information received, the police had informed the family of the deceased about the incident late at night. According to them, the deceased worked as a security guard in a private company in Jalandhar. He used to come home every day between 9:30 and 10 pm. This accident happened while returning home from work at night.
