Amritsar: Taking the investigation further, the Counter Intelligence wing of Punjab Police busted an inter-state weapon smuggling racket. Three people have been arrested by the police in the course of an investigation. DGP Gaurav Yadav shared this preliminary information on his X handle.
Acting swiftly on the forward-backward linkages, the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police busted an inter-state weapon smuggling module. The team apprehended three persons involved with the module in Amritsar.
As per the police, the arrested accused procured their consignments from illegal weapons dealers of Madhya Pradesh.
Police investigation also revealed that two of the three arrested accused have a criminal history including involvement in a murder case.
During the investigation, the SSOC team Amritsar also made a recovery. The team recovered 3 pistols along with magazines and bullets. FIR has been registered at State Special Operation Cell (SSOC).
