New Delhi: The Supreme Court directed NTA to publish on its website the marks obtained by the students in the NEET-UG examination and the identity of students be masked. The result should be declared separately city and centre-wise, says SC in the hearing. Supreme Court posted the case for July 22 for hearing pleas alleging paper leak and malpractice in NEET-UG 2024 exams.
Supreme Court hearing in NEET UG Irregularities
The third Supreme hearing on 38 petitions related to irregularities in NEET is to be held today in front of the CJI’s bench. A division bench of CJI Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra is hearing the case.
The bench held the first hearing on the case on July 8. After this, the court gave time till July 10 to the four stakeholders related to NEET – NTA, Central Government, CBI and the petitioners demanding re-examination to file an affidavit.
The second hearing on NEET was held on July 11. After this, the court postponed the case till July 18. The CJI’s bench had said that the affidavits of NTA and the Central Government have not reached everyone. Due to this, the date of the hearing was extended.
In the first hearing, the court had admitted that the paper was leaked
In the first hearing of the case held on July 8, the bench said that it was clear that the paper had been leaked. A decision on re-examination can be taken only after knowing how widespread it is.
In the NEET case, the Supreme Court had sought a report from all the stakeholders related to the exam by 5 pm on July 10.
The CBI had submitted an affidavit in the court on July 11. The registry had said that discuss with the court about submitting the affidavit after the delay from the stipulated time.
However, Justice JB Pardiwala of the bench said that he is aware of the submission of the CBI report.
