Jalandhar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Jalandhar has filed a prosecution complaint before the Hon’ble Special Court (PMLA), Jalandhar against Sakatar Singh, his brother Makhan Singh, and their family members in a drug trafficking case. According to the ED, the accused had acquired wealth from the illegal drug business.
“The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Jalandhar has registered a case against Sakantar Singh alias Ladi, his brother Makhan Singh and his family members in the Hon’ble Special Court (PMLA), Jalandhar in a case of drug trafficking,” the ED said in a statement.
ED started an investigation based on FIRs registered by Punjab Police and NCB. Subsequently, searches were conducted under the provisions of PMLA, 2002 on February 3, 2023, at 10 places located in village Sheron and Nowshera Pannuan of Tehsil Nowshera Pannuan and village Bugha of Tehsil Tarn Taran.
Earlier on July 12, 2024, the ED had provisionally attached the immovable property, bank balance, and cash of Rs 3.91 crore under the provisions of PMLA, 2002.
