According to IMD, there is a possibility of rain in 8 districts adjoining Himachal, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala. While the possibility of rain in other states is less than 25%.
The reason behind the slow pace of monsoon in Punjab is the pressure in the Bay of Bengal and the weakening of the western disturbance. However according to the forecast of July 21, if the effect of the Bay of Bengal reduces, then rain can be seen in Punjab from July 22.
