​​​​​​Army truck overturns after hitting divider in Punjab

While overtaking, it lost control after being hit by a trolley, resulting in 5 soldiers being injured. 

Jalandhar: On Saturday, an army truck was hit by a trolley in Jalandhar, Punjab. After the collision, the army truck broke the grill of the highway, crossed the divider, and overturned. Five soldiers have been injured in the accident. All the injured have been admitted to the Army Hospital.

The accident took place near Suchi Pind at around 6 a.m. A CCTV video of the incident has also surfaced. In which the truck is seen overtaking. Then the trolley hits the truck, due to which it loses control and overturns.

SHO Gurpreet Singh of the Rama Mandi police station said that in the morning we received information about the incident from the control room. Further action will be taken after the investigation.

According to the police, the trolley with 16 tyres was going from Ludhiana to Amritsar. At the same time, the army truck was going from BSF headquarters to Pathankot. The army truck was moving forward while overtaking. Then the trolley running next to it hit it from the side. Due to this, the truck went towards the grill, became uncontrollable, crossed the divider, and overturned.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the teams of the Road Safety Force (SSF) reached the spot. The injured soldiers were taken out of the army truck. The driver and a conductor were sitting in the front. There were three soldiers in the back seat. They were admitted to Army Hospital Jalandhar Cantt through an ambulance. Doctors say that the condition of all the soldiers is stable.

After the accident, a crowd of people gathered on the highway. There was also a jam due to the army truck lying in the middle of the highway. The SSF team called a crane on the spot and moved the truck to the side. After this, the traffic started.
