Gunfire incident: At Lamba Pind chowk sparks concern in Jalandhar; Police launches investigation

An eyewitness said that after the incident, the accused fled with the car.

Jalandhar: On Saturday, car-borne attackers opened fire on a bike rider near Lamba Pind Chowk in Jalandhar, Punjab. Before firing the bullets, the accused tried to catch the youth, but he somehow escaped from them.

The victim has alleged that the accused were chasing him from near Lamba Pind Chowk. When the bike rider stopped near Lamba Pind Chowk due to the crowd, the youths who got out of the car opened fire. There is an atmosphere of panic in the area after the incident.

An eyewitness said that after the incident, the accused fled with the car.

Eyewitness Pratap Singh said that this incident happened in front of him. He was present at the Chowk at the time of the incident. Immediately after the incident, information about the case was given to the police control room. After that, the PCR team reached out first for an investigation. CCTV cameras are installed around the place where the incident took place. Based on this, the police have started identifying the car and the accused.

According to the information received, after firing bullets at the bike rider, the accused went towards Pathankot Chowk and, from there, fled towards Bhogpur. Passersby and the victim also chased the accused, but they could not be caught. As soon as information about the incident was received, police station Rama Mandi, police station division number 8, and ACP Central reached the spot for investigation. For a long time, the police were confused about the boundaries of the police stations.
