On Monday (22 January) morning, terrorists attacked the house of a VDC (Gram Panchayat Member) in Gunda, Rajouri, Jammu. As soon as the news of the attack was received, the contingent from 63 RR Army Camp retaliated and killed a terrorist. The terrorist has not been identified.
A soldier was injured in the encounter. The injured soldier has been shot, and has been admitted to the hospital. A civilian is also reported to be injured. The injured civilian is said to be a relative of Shaurya Chakra winner Purushottam Kumar Sharma.
Immediately after the incident, more security forces have been sent to the spot. A search operation has been started to locate the hidden terrorists.

On July 18, the army killed two terrorists in an encounter in Keran area of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir. The army had received information about some terrorists hiding here, after which a search operation was conducted. During this time, an encounter started between the terrorists and the army.
On the other hand, an encounter is going on at two places in Doda as well. Two soldiers were injured in a terrorist attack early Thursday morning. Army officials said that terrorists opened fire on a temporary security camp built in a school in Jaddan Bata village of Kastigarh area late Wednesday night. Two soldiers were injured in this.
