Ludhiana: In Ludhiana, Punjab, this morning, a young man committed suicide by hanging himself in a hotel room near the bus stand. In the morning, when the staff members knocked to open the door, no one opened it. When the police were called on the spot after getting suspicious, they broke the lock of the door and took down the body hanging from the fan. The name of the deceased is Amritpal Singh.
Giving information, Dharampal, in charge of Kochar Market Police Station, said that this morning he had received information that a young man had committed suicide in Hotel Maple. When he went to the room, his body was hanging from the fan. The deceased is a resident of the village of Goindwal. He worked as a mason. Amritpal had rented the hotel yesterday.
In the morning, when the staff members went to check out the room, the door was locked from inside. They informed the police. The police have taken Amritpal’s body into custody and kept it in the mortuary of the civil hospital. After his family’s arrival, the body will be handed over to the family after a postmortem.
