Punjab Governor BL Purohit will visit the border districts from today (Tuesday) to July 25. He will start his visit from Pathankot district. During this, he will meet the Village Defense Committees in Bamiyal. Also, he will listen to the problems faced by the border people. All the senior officers of the district including Chief Secretary Anurag Verma and DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav will be present with him.
This is the 6th visit to the border area
The governor is very serious about the problems of the border people. He has visited the border area 5 times before this. At the same time, during his visits in the past, he had surrounded the government by raising many issues including drug addiction, illegal mining. After this, the distance between the governor and the government had increased. Also, it was described as direct interference in the area under the government.
On July 23, the governor will first hold a special meeting with the administrative officials of Gurdaspur and Pathankot. After this, he will go to the village Chakk Amir Vishesh, which comes under Block Bamiyal located on the Indo-Pak border. Then he will visit Gurdaspur and Ferozepur on July 25. Preparations for the tour have been completed in all the districts.
