Punjab Police nabs women robber gang in Mohali

They used to target lonely women and loot gold and silver ornaments.

Mohali: The police of the Mohali district of Punjab have nabbed a women robber gang. They used to target lonely women in public places and loot their gold and silver ornaments. This gang consists of six women. The special thing was that by looking at their appearance, no one could suspect them to be robbers. Because the age of all of them was between 55 and 60 years. Some were elderly, and some could walk with great difficulty. The police of Kurali police station arrested all the accused and recovered 15 grams of gold bangles from them. DSP Kharar-2 Dharamvir has revealed this in a press conference.

Ruchika Garg, a resident of Kurali, had given a complaint to the police on July 23. She had told me that she was posted on the electricity board. On July 19, she was going to Patiala. She was waiting for the bus at Morinda Road, Kurali. Then a group of 5–6 women surrounded her. When she boarded a private bus and started holding the handle on the left side of the front side of the bus, a woman put her hand on her wrist and cut her gold bangle. On this, the City Kurali Police Station had registered a case.

All the women caught by the police are residents of Patiala and Sangrur. The accused include Raj Kaur of Sangrur district, Parmal Kaur resident of Patiala, Karamjit Kaur Patiala, Soma resident of Patiala, Karamjit Kaur Patiala, and Prakasho Patiala. Meanwhile, the police is now trying to find out how many crimes they have committed so far.

A police investigation has revealed that these women were very clever. Also, they were planning to commit the crime again. In such a situation, the Kurali police traced and arrested them. According to the police, three to four cases of similar nature have been registered against all the women earlier. All these women did not target young people but targeted women who were a little older. Also, they thought that they were not alert. They would execute the crime in a few minutes and then leave.
