Governor of Punjab visits bordering areas of Ferozepur to assess security and welfare issues

Hon’ble Governor Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit emphasized that all state and central agencies are working in coordination to ensure there is no threat to national security.

Ferozepur: Today, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit visited the bordering areas of the Ferozepur district. He convened a crucial meeting with BSF, Army, Police, and Civil Administration officials. The session aimed to assess and address the challenges confronting residents of these sensitive regions, emphasizing community welfare and security enhancements.

The BSF delegation was led by Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF Punjab. In his address to the local population, the Hon’ble Governor encouraged the Village Defense Committees (VDCs) to assist law enforcement agencies in curbing crime in border areas. He also announced cash incentives for VDC members who provide information about Pakistani drones and reiterated the government’s commitment to upgrading technology to counter the rogue drone menace.

During his visit, the Hon’ble Governor attended an exhibition by BSF officers showcasing captured Pakistani narco-drones. He highly appreciated BSF’s significant contributions to the security of Punjab and India. Hon’ble Governor emphasized that all state and central agencies are working in coordination to ensure there is no threat to national security.
