Doctors strike in Haryana foces pregnant woman to deliver on hospital floor

Referred from a government hospital groaning in labor pain, a baby born outside emergency.

Panipat: In Haryana’s Panipat, on Friday, a woman gave birth to a baby girl on the floor of a government hospital. Due to the doctors’ strike, the woman who came for delivery was referred by the doctors. The nurse left the woman sitting on the floor of the emergency gate. Here the woman kept groaning in pain. Finally, the woman herself gave birth to the baby girl on the floor.

Kanchan Kumari’s husband, Dinesh Kumar, told me that he is originally from Bihar. He already has 2 children and lives in Vikas Nagar, Panipat. On Friday, his wife had labor pains. He took her to the civil hospital in Panipat. Due to the doctors’ strike, she was referred to Karnal.

Dinesh told me that he pleaded with the staff present there that his wife was in a lot of pain, but no one listened. After this, he took his wife from the maternity ward to the emergency room. The nurse who came with him left them there and went away. After some time, Kanchan gave birth to a baby girl on the floor.

Dinesh alleged that even after the delivery, no nurse or doctor arrived on the spot. After which the journalists and other people standing there informed the staff nurse about this. After which the nurse arrived on the spot. She covered the woman from all four sides. After this, the woman and the girl were taken to the maternity ward and admitted.

In this case, CMO Jayant Ahuja says that as soon as I came to know, orders were immediately given to the staff. Both have been admitted. Due to the doctors’ strike, every effort is being made to handle every system smoothly.

About 3 thousand doctors in Haryana’s government hospitals have been on strike since Thursday. Today is the second day of their strike. There are a total of 159 government hospitals in the state, in whose OPD patients are not being seen. Postmortem is also closed in many hospitals. Apart from this, the facility of delivery for pregnant women is also closed. Due to this, patients have to wander here and there in the hospitals.
