With In 2-3 Mintues Water Filled In Basement

An eyewitness student said that by the time we vacated the library, the water had filled up to the knees. The flow was so fast that it was difficult to climb the stairs. In just 2-3 minutes, the entire basement was filled with 10-12 feet of water. The students were standing on the benches.

Ropes were thrown to save the students, but in the muddy water ropes were not visible. Police said that during the rescue, a bench was floating in the water. Therefore, there were difficulties in taking the children out. It is not yet clear how water suddenly came inside with high pressure. Police is investigating.

Fire officer Atul Garg said that we received information about water filling in the basement of the coaching centre at 7 pm. 5 fire brigade vehicles were sent for rescue. Initially, water was not coming out of the basement due to water filling on the road. After some time, when the water on the road decreased, water started coming out of the basement. We pumped out the water. After this, bodies of students started being found.

Students Start Protest

After this incident, students start the protest against MCD. In the morning, a protesting student claimed that 8-10 people have lost their lives. MCD is calling it a disaster, but it is a case of complete negligence. In just half an hour of rain, water fills up to the knees.

students said, disaster is called that which happens sometimes. Landlord told that he has been telling MCD for the last 10-12 days that the drainage system should be repaired immediately. Another protesting student said that immediate action should be taken against the culprits and the correct number of people injured and killed in the accident should be disclosed.
