Mrs. Chandigarh Aparna arrests in Mohali

Fraud of crores in the name of sending abroad gold biscuits and Rs 7 lakh cash recovered. 

Chandigarh: Mohali Police of Punjab has arrested former Mrs Chandigarh Aparna Sargota and her son Kunal on charges of cheating people in the name of sending them abroad. Phase-11 police station has arrested both of them. 500 grams of gold biscuits, cash worth Rs 7 lakh, and a luxury car have been recovered from them.

In this case, the police have already arrested her husband, Sanjay. SHO of Phase-11 police station Gandeep Singh has confirmed this. He said that a case of fraud of about two and a half to three crore rupees has come to light. 25 more cases are registered against them. Many more layers will be revealed in the future. At the same time, the number of victims of fraud may also increase.

According to Mohali Police, the woman had opened an immigration office in Sector 105 along with her husband. Where they used to take advantage of the helplessness of people going abroad. During this time, they used to extort lakhs of rupees from people. But later, far from sending them abroad, they did not even pick up their phone. People were constantly harassed. Many victims of their fraud reached the police station. After this, a case was registered.

A police investigation revealed that the accused woman had bought half a kilo of gold biscuits with fraudulent money. Biscuits of 100-100 grams have been recovered from her. Seven lakh rupees in cash and a Ford Eco Sport car have also been recovered. Now the police have started finding out the property present in her bank account. The police clearly said that the property would be confiscated. Our effort is to get justice to the people.

According to the police, Aparna was a lawyer by profession. She won the title of Mrs Chandigarh in the age group above 40 years in 2019.
