Mohali: On Saturday night at around 11 p.m., three dozen unidentified attackers vandalized two hotels in Zirakpur, Mohali. During this, the attackers with sharp weapons beat up the guests staying in the hotel. Not only this, their vehicles parked in the hotel parking were also vandalized. On receiving information about the case, Zirakpur police have started investigating the matter.
Giving information, Praveen Kumar, operator of Hotel G Plaza and Hotel New Style, said that on July 21, some people came to his hotel asking for a room. When they did not show their ID to the hotel manager, the manager refused to give the room. He told me that on July 24, those people came again and started threatening them. Praveen alleged that the attackers were demanding extortion of 50 thousand rupees per month from him.
When he refused to pay them extortion money, last night about three dozen attackers first vandalized Hotel New Style and then reached Hotel G Plaza and vandalized the reception and all the rooms of the hotel. During this, the attackers badly damaged the AC, LED, fridge, and other items installed in the hotel.
Praveen feared that the attackers could cause more damage to him. He is also in danger from the attackers. Investigation officer Sub Inspector Jaswant Singh, who reached the spot, said that the police have started an investigation by reaching the spot. The attackers will be caught soon.
