Gold jewellery worth Rs 30.50 lakhs snatches in Chandigarh

Ordered at the shop, took delivery at home, and made excuses when asked for money. 

Chandigarh: Rajesh Puri, a resident of Sector-70, Chandigarh, has accused Sector-79 resident Chirag Agarwal of cheating him of Rs 30.50 lakh. It is alleged that Chirag got gold jewelry made from him earlier, and after taking the jewelry, he did not pay the price of Rs 30.50 lakh. Sohana police station has registered a case against Chirag on the basis of an investigation into Rajesh’s complaint.

In the complaint given to the police, Rajesh Puri alleged that he runs a jewelry shop in Sector 44. On January 31, 2022, Chirag came to the shop with his family. During this, he liked much jewelry at his shop. When the jewelry he liked was ready, Chirag asked him to deliver the jewelry at his home. After this, on 2 February 2022, he reached Chirag’s house with the prepared jewelry.

After giving the jewelry, when he asked for its price of Rs 30.50 lakh, Chirag asked him to come the next day to collect the money. After this, Chirag kept asking him for more time to pay the money by giving him some excuse or the other. After Chirag did not give the money, he got upset and complained to the police. After investigating the case by DSP City 1, a report was prepared. On the orders of SSP, Sohana police station has registered a case against the accused Chirag.
