DC reaches Civil Hospital late night in Kapurthala

Checked the condition of patients suffering from diarrhea and gave instructions to health officials. 

Kapurthala: DC Amit Kumar Panchal reached the emergency ward of the Civil Hospital late at night to take stock of the situation regarding diarrhea cases in 4 areas of Kapurthala district. He instructed the officials to make every possible effort to take care of the health of the patients.

During this, the DC also checked the condition of the patients admitted in the ward. He was accompanied by Civil Surgeon Dr. Surinderpal Kaur, SMO Dr. Sandeep Dhawan, and Dr. Rajiv Bhagat, as well as many other health department teams.

The number of patients affected by diarrhea in the district has reached 55. At present, 12 patients are being treated in the emergency ward. The DC said that the health department and municipal corporation officials should ensure regular medical checkups in the affected areas as well as continue the ongoing fogging so that the situation can be kept under control.

He said that ORS solution and zinc tablets are also being distributed in these areas by the health department teams. And surveyed about 150 houses and also gave necessary advice to the people. He also directed the officials of the concerned department to conduct door-to-door surveys in the affected areas.

Health department officials told DC Kapurthala that MMU vans have also been sent by the department to the affected areas. And the health of the people suffering from diarrhea admitted to the civil hospital has improved a lot. DC said that every effort should be made to prevent the spread of water and mosquito-borne diseases during the rainy season.

He said that all the necessary arrangements and preparations are necessary in the hospitals for the treatment of these diseases so that proper care of the patients can be taken when needed. He also appealed to the people that everyone should take proper precautions to avoid mosquitoes and water-borne diseases.
