Amritsar: The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Raiya in Amritsar, Punjab, has been suspended. The department says that CDPO Bikramjit Singh motivated his co-workers to make reports of wrong information about Anganwadi centers. Whereas Bikramjit Singh had raised the issue of providing poor quality rations by a private firm in Anganwadi centers just a few days ago.
Area MLA and senior Congress leader Sukhpal Khaira has shared a post on social media X opposing the suspension of CDPO. Sukhpal Khaira says, I am sad that a good officer like Bikramjit Singh, who is posted on the post of CDPO Raiya Amritsar, has been suspended for raising the issue of supply of poor quality ration by a private firm in his department.

A ration is being supplied to Anganwadi centers by outsourcing to this private firm. The alleged private firm had so much influence that they suspended him within a few hours of the complaint of fungus in the ration, which was endangering the lives of children.
Sukhpal Khaira has also shared a video of Bikramjit Singh in his post. Which Bikramjit said that fungus-infected ration was being given at his Anganwadi centers. This is a poison. If pregnant women and children get poisoned, he will inform his department. Such fungus grows on wood during rainy days. If someone eats it, he may die.
The suspension letter issued by the department was signed by Special Chief Secretary Raji P. Srivastava. Who wrote that Bikramjit Singh had specifically encouraged his colleagues to give wrong reports while checking Anganwadi centers.
After which he is suspended under the Civil Services Rules.
