They had brought heroin from Haryana to Mohali; police were looking for a supplier.

Mohali: Mohali’s Special Task Force team has arrested two drug smugglers from near Airport Road. These drug smugglers used to smuggle drugs in Mohali, Chandigarh, and nearby areas. These people used to bring drugs from Delhi at cheap rates. During the interrogation of the arrested accused, police came to know that these people were bringing this heroin from Sonipat in Haryana. Police have recovered 1 kg of heroin from their possession. The accused have been identified as Mohit Kumar and Bablu, residents of Jalandhar. The police are still looking for the person who supplied them drugs in Sonipat. Recently, a constable of the Punjab Police was arrested.

On July 17, Mohali STF arrested a constable of Punjab Police, Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Faridkot. Along with him, a woman, Navdeep Kaur, a resident of Talwandi, was also arrested. 440 grams of heroin and a car with a Chandigarh number plate were recovered from their possession. They had told the police that they were bringing this drug from Gagandeep and Sandeep, residents of Phagwara. When the police arrested Gagandeep on July 20, 1 kg and 500 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession.

The police came to know in the case that Gagandeep and Sandeep were involved in drug smuggling on the instructions of some other people. These included Gurvinder Singh, Randeep Kaur, Sohanlal, and Rajneesh. They were doing the drug smuggling business while sitting in jail. The police interrogated all these accused by taking them from jail on a production warrant. There is a possibility of new revelations in this case too.
