Amritsar Police arrests 2 persons in drug smuggling case

Rs 2 lakh drug money was seized; both were travelling on an Activa without a number plate. 

Amritsar: In Amritsar district, police have recovered Rs 2 lakh of drug money and one kg of ice drug (amphetamine). Two accused have also been arrested along with them. Police have registered a case against the accused and started an investigation.

The police of Cantonment police station had received information that two accused were travelling with drugs. After this, a blockade was made by the police in Ajnala. During the blockade, two youths riding an Activa were stopped based on suspicion.

When the youths were stopped and searched, 1 kg of ice drug and Rs 2 lakh in drug money were recovered from them. The accused were also driving an activa without a license plate. After this, the police arrested the accused on the spot. The accused have been identified as Bahadur Singh, a resident of Gujrapura, Tarn Taran Road, and Monu Kumar, a resident of Tarn Taran Road.

Earlier, on July 21, Amritsar police had arrested two accused based on the information provided by a woman caught with heroin. 1 kg of ice drug, 2 kg of 400 grams of heroin, and 520 grams of pseudoephedrine were seized from them. The police are investigating this case thoroughly.
