Panipat Bar Association sets landmark with Deputy Chief Post reserved for female lawyer

The Supreme Court had asked to reserve one post for a female lawyer. 

Panipat: The Panipat District Bar Association has made a big decision. Here the post of Deputy Chief of Bar Association has been reserved for a female lawyer. Women lawyers thanked the bar president for this decision. Also said that this will increase the participation of both women and male advocates in the bar. Also, the problems of women lawyers can be heard and told well at some level.

A meeting was held in the meeting hall of the District Bar Association on August 1 under the chairmanship of Bar President Amit Kadyan and the entire executive. All women advocates participated in the meeting of the District Bar Association Panipat. In this meeting, all the women advocates demanded to reserve the post of Deputy Chief.

Women advocates told me that on May 2, 2024, the Supreme Court will give a decision. In this decision, the Supreme Court has given instructions to reserve one post for women advocates in the Bar Association elections.

On the demand of the Supreme Court and women advocates, the District Bar Association Panipat decided to reserve the post of vice president for women advocates. Around 2500 advocates vote in the elections of the District Bar Association Panipat. Out of which around 430 are women advocates.

As per the instructions of the Supreme Court, elections will be held by keeping the post of vice president reserved for women advocates. On this occasion, apart from vice president Harsh Saini, secretary Ashish Bansal, joint secretary Dinesh Rohilla, cashier Babita Kadyan Punia, and women lawyers like Padma Sharma, Sunita Kashyap, Tamanna Sethi, Arpita Bansal, Poonam Sharma, etc. were present.
