Bhiwani: Bank officer swindles Rs7.7 lakh with fake NOC, FIR lodged against two

When the bank officials investigated the matter, it was found that the NOC issued to the customer was fake.

Bhiwani: A recovery officer and employee of Bandhan Bank of Bhiwani, Haryana, in collusion, defrauded a person of about 7 lakh 70 thousand rupees. It is alleged that both of them took the money from the person and grabbed it instead of depositing it in the bank loan account. Handed over fake NOC for repaying the loan. The industrial police station has registered a case.

MD of Bandhan Bank Limited, Bhiwani, Rohit Brar, said that on April 22, 2024, a call came from a customer of the bank, Gajju. The customer said that the bank has paid the loan, but it is still showing pending. The bank is repeatedly calling to pay the instalments. Rohit asked Gajju how he closed his loan.

Gajju told me that he came to the Bandhan Bank Bhiwani branch on 4 August 2023. The branch’s dealing staff paid a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh 75 thousand to Arun. After paying the amount, the dealing staff said that the NOC (No Objection Certificate of Loan Account) would be issued after 6 months. On 6 April 2024, Gajju received the NOC from Arun.

When the bank officials investigated the matter, they found that the NOC issued by Arun to the customer was fake. The customer also showed his passbook. Arun has committed fraud by completing the customer’s passbook in his handwriting. The customer told me that he had received a fake NOC from Arun’s phone via WhatsApp. There is no record of the payment deposited in the customer’s loan account in the bank system. Arun was a relationship executive in the bank.

Arun resigned from the bank on 10 April 2024. Arun has committed this fraud in connivance with other bank employees. He has recorded about Rs 7,70,000 in the customers’ passbook but has not posted it in the bank’s system. The industrial police station has registered a case against former employee Arun and other suspected employees.
