Breaking: Manish Sisodia granted bail after 1.5 years by Supreme Court in Excise Policy Case

Soon after the verdict of the Supreme Court, AAP leaders were seen celebrating. 

New Delhi: In a big relief to AAP leader and former Deputy CM of New Delhi, the Supreme Court granted bail to AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the excise policy irregularities case. Supreme Court granting the bail has posed certain conditions directing him to surrender his passport and not to influence witnesses. The bail has been granted by the apex court and Manish Sisodia will walk out from the jail after 17 months. 

The Supreme Court granted regular bail to Manish Sisodia in cases that were being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.

The verdict was delivered by the bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan. The bench directed Sisodia to submit a bail bond of 10 lakh with two sureties. The court has also asked Sisodia to surrender his passport and report twice a week on Monday and Thursday before the Investigating Officer. The verdict was reserved by the Court during the hearing on August 6. The court also conditioned to not make any attempt to influence witnesses or tamper with evidence.
