6 dead, 4 missing after Innova car washed away in flood village Jekon of Hoshiarpur

All were going to attend a wedding in Nawanshahr.

Garhshankar (Hoshiarpur): An Innova car washed away village Jejon of Garhshankar tehsil, Hoshiarpur district. All 10-11 people were going to attend a wedding from Dehra village of Himachal Pradesh fell into the rainwater. It took the lives of 10 people, while a young man was injured. It is being told that the bodies of 7 dead have been found while the search for the rest is on.

Meanwhile, the person who was pulled out of the car, Deepak Bhatia son of Surjeet Bhatia resident of Dehra near Mehatpur district Una Himachal Pradesh was going to attend a wedding in Nawanshahr in a rented car. He said that his father Surjit Singh, mother Paramjit Kaur, uncle Saroop Chand, aunt Binder, aunt Shanu, Bhawna 19, Anku 20, Harshit 12 and the driver were travelling in the car. It is said that all of them were from the same family.

10-11 people were sitting in Innova and got swept away in the rainwater.

Residents of Jejon village Manoj, Rohit Jain, Sachin, Shivam Prajatya, Deepak Sharma, Paramjeet alias Pammi said that at around 10:30 am when they were watching the rainwater in the ravine, a Himachal Pradesh number Innova car carrying about 10-11 people got swept away in the ditch water. Villagers said that a person was trapped in the vehicle while the rest were swept away in the water.

Bodies of 6 people have been found, searching operation is going on.
