Himachal Pradesh: Fraud of more than 15 lakhs in Rampur

Society absconded after collecting money from people; it was running for five years.

Rampur: Pride Co-operative Society defrauded people living in Shimla’s Rampur Nagar Parishad area and nearby areas of lakhs of rupees in Himachal Pradesh. The victims of the fraud have registered a case at the Rampur police station.

According to the police, Pride Co-operative Society has been running in Rampur for the last five years. Other people, including businessmen of the city, deposited money in this society. But when it came to taking back the money from the society,  ran away from here without returning the money to the people.

DSP Naresh Sharma said that the police are investigating the matter. A case has been registered against two people. It was reported that the victims were cheated of about 15 lakhs.

Victims Gopal Singh, Anita, Raveena, Pooja Tamang, and Kamala Devi, residents of Dakoldh, said that daily, Pride Co-operative Society kept depositing money in Dakoldh. When it came to taking back the money, the people running the society ran away. Police have registered a case of fraud against the MD of Pride Co-operative Society, Raj Pal, a resident of village Deha Balsan, district Shimla, and Anmol Raja Cinema Road, Fazilka Ferozepur.
