Ludhiana: Punjab’s most expensive toll plaza Ladowal is going to be free again from August 18. In view of hiked toll fees, farmers have given an ultimatum to NHAI to reduce the tax on vehicles. If NHAI does not reduce the rates, then once again the farmers will protest at Ladowal toll plaza and make it free for people passing by.

Let us tell you that earlier for 46 days, farmers had made the toll free by setting up a permanent front at the toll plaza. The case went on in the High Court but the farmers could not become a party there directly. The lawyer of the Punjab government also argued a lot but the High Court ruled in favor of NHAI.

The court had ordered the administration to start the toll. The day the toll started, the farmer leaders were also detained by the police. Now the farmers have themselves filed a writ in the toll plaza case.

Pradhan Dilbag Singh said that a tractor march is being taken out on August 15. Now farmers are also being targeted at the toll plaza. The vehicle on which the farmer’s flag is hoisted is being stopped. In the rest of India, no one is stopped at the toll for seeing the farmer’s flag. Bharatiya Kisan Union Doaba, Bharatiya Kisan Union Dakonda and Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union will hold a meeting on August 18 at Ladowal Toll Plaza and will soon make the toll free.
