Teacher attacked by youths in broad daylight in Batala; Police investigate with CCTV evidence

Gurdaspur: In Khajuri Gate, an inner area of Batala, bike-riding youths stopped a teacher returning home from school and attacked him with a sword in broad daylight, injuring him. The incident has been recorded on a CCTV camera installed there. Pawan Kumar, father of injured teacher Amit Kumar, said that his son Amit was returning.

Gurdaspur: In Khajuri Gate, an inner area of Batala, bike-riding youths stopped a teacher returning home from school and attacked him with a sword in broad daylight, injuring him. The incident has been recorded on a CCTV camera installed there.

Pawan Kumar, father of injured teacher Amit Kumar, said that his son Amit was returning home from school on his bike. While going from Khajuri Gate towards Pahadi Gate, 3 youths on a bike stopped him on the way. The youths asked Amit in which school he teaches. As soon as the son told the name of the school, two youths attacked the son with sharp weapons seriously injured him and fled from there with their third companion sitting on the bike. A complaint has been lodged in the police station regarding the incident.

SHO Jasjit Singh of Station City said that the matter is being investigated by checking the CCTV recording. He said that soon the attacking youths will be identified and arrested. He said that the police team is engaged in investigating this matter.
