Chandigarh: Chandigarh Car Dealers Association has written a letter to Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anandita Mitra. In which they have demanded an allotment of 10 acres of land for the car market. The organization’s general secretary, SK Sood, said that this car market is held only once a week due to not having its land.

However, buyers from many states come to buy cars from this organization of 80 to 100 dealers. The general secretary and head of the organization have appealed to the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to allot them a permanent place so that people from all over North India can get their favourite car at a reasonable price under one roof.

Chandigarh Car Dealers Association advisor Rajesh Gupta said that the old car market has been held for more than 40 years. Initially, this market used to be held every Sunday in Sector 7.

In the year 2016, the Municipal Corporation shifted it to Hallomajra. It continued there for two years too. No basic facilities were provided to the car dealers. Due to this, the dealers got upset and asked the corporation to shift the car market. The corporation shifted it to Manimajra in the year 2019, and since then it has been set up there. The car market is set up here only once a week.
