Kapurthala Police nab two drug smugglers, seize heroin during bike search, investigation underway to uncover larger network

Kapurthala: Kapurthala police have arrested two drug smugglers riding bikes during patrolling. Police have recovered 30 grams of heroin from their possession during the search. A case has been registered against both the drug smugglers under the NDPS Act at Subhanpur police station. Both the accused are being questioned. According to the information, Subhanpur SHO.

According to the information, Subhanpur SHO Kanwarjit Singh said that Badshahpur outpost in-charge Lakhveer Singh was on patrol with the police team. During this time, the police team saw two youths coming on a Platina bike. The police team stopped both of them based on suspicion. During interrogation, they told their names as Gurwinder Singh, son of Kewal Singh, resident of village Lakhowal Ludhiana, and Charanjit Singh, alias Channa, son of Bhupinder Lal, resident of village Jainpur, currently resident of village Lakhowal.

When the police team searched the accused, 30 grams of heroin were recovered from their possession. The police have registered a case against both the drug smugglers under the NDPS Act. SHO Kanwarjit Singh said that the accused are being questioned about their network.
