Today Punjab BJP Chief Sunil Jakhar will start the BJP membership campaign from Mohali. During this, senior BJP leaders will also be present. He will also hold a meeting with BJP leaders. In this, a strategy will be made for the upcoming assembly by-election.
The BJP is trying to connect 18 crore people to the BJP at the national level so that every house is connected to the party. In this episode, this campaign is to be run from September But its formal start will be today. The campaign will run from September. However, connecting people to the party in Punjab is no less than a challenge. BJP faces big challenge in villages as due to farmers movement, people don’t like BJP and leaders not get any support from the villagers.
The good thing for the BJP is that this time in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP could not win any seat in Punjab But there has been an increase in the vote percentage. By getting 18.56% vote share, BJP has emerged as a bigger party than the regional party Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
This is the first election when both parties have contested the Lok Sabha elections separately. In this election, Akali Dal got 13.42% votes i.e. 18 lakh 8 thousand 837 votes were cast.
