Samrala (Ludhiana): An alleged psycho son brutally killed his 55-year-old father near village Gehlewal in Samrala on Tuesday night. The accused brutally assaulted his father with a wooden log.
According to the police, all members of the family, including the victim, his wife as well as the accused son are mentally unfit.
The police have arrested the accused from his residence after the incident.
The victim has been identified as Jaswinder Singh (55) and the accused son has been identified as Prabhjot Singh (24).
Davinder Pal Singh, SHO, Samrala police station said that the incident occurred at around 6pm on Tuesday and after receiving information at around 9pm, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused from the house.
SHO said that the accused, who is a psycho, has brutally assaulted his father with a wooden log and after killing his father he didn’t flee from the house rather he sat in the other room.
SHO added that it has been learnt that around one and half year ago, the accused had also murdered his grand-mother.
Davinder Pal Singh added that all the family members including the victim’s wife are also not mentally fit.
The police have sent the victim’s body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem and also recovered the weapon from the house.
