Ludhiana: The team of anti-narcotic cell of Ludhiana police has arrested three drug peddlers in two separate cases and recovered a total of 82 kg poppy husk and 600g opium from his possession. The police also seized a Verna car.
The accused has been identified as Rehamdeen Khan alias Babbu (47) of village Lapran of Payal PS jurisdiction of Khanna police district, Gurpreet Singh alias Neetu (54) of Kila Raipur and Harjinder Singh alias Boota (52) of village Bilaspur.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ashok Kumar said that the anti-narcotic police have arrested Rehamdeen Khan from Dehlon area when he was travelling in Verna car. The team stopped him for checking and on frisking, the team recovered 42 kg poppy husk and 600g opium from the car.
A case under sections 15B, 18B, 61, 85 of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Dehlon police station. The accused was produced before the court and the court sent the accused to two days in police custody.
Meanwhile in the second case, the team first arrested Gurpreet and recovered 8 kg poppy husk from his possession and then on the basis of information received from Gurpreet during questioning the police arrested Harjinder Singh and recovered 32 kg poppy husk from his possession.
A case under sections 15, 15B, 61, 85 of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Dehlon police station. The accused were produced before the court and the court sent the accused to two days in police custody.
