Ludhiana (Jagraon): An incident of car-jacking has been reported from Jagraon of Ludhiana district in which three miscreants have robbed Moga based residents of their Wagon R car. The vehicle belonged to the occupants’ firm in which they were returning to Moga from Ludhiana. The incident occurred at Pardesi Dhaba in Jagraon on Sunday night when the car occupants were about to leave from Dhaba.
However, as there was a GPS system installed in the car, the police have recovered the vehicle but the accused have managed to flee.
The City Jagraon police have registered an FIR under sections 309 (4) of BNS against unidentified persons on the statement of Anuj Malik of Meerut of UP, presently residing in Beant Nagar of Moga.
According to Anuj, he works as a territory manager in a private firm in Moga and he along with distributor Riju Sood of Moga were returning from Ludhiana in the company’s Wagon R car. Anuj said that on their way to Moga they took a halt at Pardesi Dhaba in Jagraon and after having dinner when they were about to leave from Dhaba and just sat in their car, three persons turned up on a motorcycle and two of them suddenly sat on the back seats in the car.
The accused flashed sharp edged weapons and forced the occupants to leave the car, when objected, the accused attacked one of them with the weapon and pushed them out of the vehicle and then drove away.
According to the police, there was a GPS system installed in the vehicle and tracking the location, the police recovered from the car near Barnala.
ASI Shaminderjit Singh said that the accused had dumped the car near Barnala before fleeing.
He added that the police have registered an FIR and further initiated investigation into the matter. The police are scanning the CCTV cameras to trace the accused.
