Ludhiana’s Sindhi Bakers firing incident – Two assailants held by Moga police following exchange of fire

Ludhiana: In Ludhiana’s Sindhi bakers firing incident, The CIA team of Moga police have arrested two scooter-borne assailants following exchange of fire. The police have also recovered two country made pistols along with three live cartridges, two mobile phones and a scooter from their possession. The accused have been identified as Jagmeet Singh alias Meeta.

Ludhiana: In Ludhiana’s Sindhi bakers firing incident, The CIA team of Moga police have arrested two scooter-borne assailants following exchange of fire. The police have also recovered two country made pistols along with three live cartridges, two mobile phones and a scooter from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Jagmeet Singh alias Meeta and Vikas Kumar alias Kasa — both are residents of Moga.

According to SSP Moga Ankur Gupta, a team of CIA Moga was patrolling on the main road near Delhi Colony Moga when they found two persons coming on Activa scooter with their faces covered. On the basis of suspicion, when the police team signaled them to stop, a scooter-borne person opened fire at the police team.

However, when the accused were trying to escape, their scooter slipped following which one accused tried to run away. Following firing by the accused, the police party also opened fire at them and one of the accused, identified as Jagmeet, suffered a bullet shot on his leg and he was held by the police party. The team also arrested Vikas Kumar who got injured after falling from a scooter.

The team recovered two country made pistols .32 bore along with two live cartridges from their possession and they were admitted to Civil Hospital in Moga.

SSP said that a case under sections 109, 132, 221 of BNS and sections of Arms act has been registered against the accused at City Moga.

He added that during preliminary investigation it has been learnt that both the accused were heading to Moga after attempting murder bid on Sindhi Bakers’ owner’ son in Ludhiana.

Sindhi Bakers’ owner’s son shot at by two assailants

On Wednesday eveningtwo scooter-borne assailants opened fire at the son of the owner of Sindhi Bakers in Rajguru Nagar, Ludhiana. In the incident, Naveen Kumar, bakery owner’s son suffered a gunshot wound to his neck. However, his condition is stated to be stable.

According to the city police, the two accused have been arrested by Moga police, the police will bring them to Ludhiana for further investigation and will know the reason behind the firing.
