Kolkata: A person from the crowd tried to slap Sandip Ghosh, former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. The incident took place on Tuesday (September 3) when the CBI brought Ghosh to Alipore Court. The video of the person outside the court slapping Sandip Ghosh is getting viral on social media.
On seeing Ghosh, the protesters outside the court raised slogans of ‘thief-thief’ and demanded that he be hanged. However, later the police and central security forces controlled the crowd and take out Sandip Ghosh. Sandip Ghosh has been arrested by CBI in the matter of financial irregularities in the RG Kar Medical college and hospital.
The court has sent Ghosh and 3 other people to CBI custody for 8 days. Ghosh is accused of financial irregularities in RG Kar Medical College. The CBI is investigating the case on the instructions of the High Court.
Ghosh was arrested BY CBI on September 2. On August 28, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) canceled Sandeep Ghosh’s membership, after which the state health department also suspended Ghosh.
A trainee doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Medical College on the night of August 8-9. The protest of junior doctors has been going on for 26 days in protest against this. They are demanding the resignation of Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal. The other demands of the protesting doctors include capital punishment to the accused of rape and murder of trainee doctor.
