Prompt action of Jalandhar Police: Two missing minor girls traced to J&K, handed over to parents

In display of prompt action, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have recovered two missing minor girls within 24 hours of registration of the case.

Jalandhar: In display of prompt action, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have recovered two missing minor girls within 24 hours of registration of the case. Giving details, ADCP Aditya said that Anju wife of Krishna Kanta resident of Rampura Phul, District Bathinda had complained that her daughter, who studies in class 11th in a school near Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar, had gone missing.

He informed that Anju had complained that around 5 pm on September 2, she received a call from the class incharge of the school that her daughter was missing as she had left the school on her own. ADCP Aditya added that similarly another girl who had also left the school the previous day and was missing.

ADCP Aditya informed that the police took immediate action and registered a case under FIR No. 141 dated 03.09.2024, Section 127 BNS at Police Station Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. He said that several police parties were formed to search for the missing girls. ADCP Aditya said that these teams went to various cities and districts and kept searching for the girls who had gone missing from school.

ADCP Aditya said that during the investigation which was carried out through scientific and technical intelligence, both the missing girls were traced to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that teams were sent to Jammu and Kashmir, from where both the girls were recovered. ADCP Aditya said that after the investigation, both the girls have been handed over to their parents in the city.
