Meerut: A grand convocation ceremony of session 2023 and session 2024 was organized in Mangalya Auditorium of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University. The convocation was presided over by the Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University and former IAS Dr. Stuti Narayan Kakkar. The chief guest was Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel. She honored the meritorious students by giving them titles and gold medals. On arrival at the university, the Chief Guest Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel was given a guard of honor.
Under the leadership of Controller of Examinations Poonam Kaushik, the academic procession was formally arrived at the Mangalya Auditorium by the Principals and Heads of all the faculties and departments. During this, all the students were greeted by clapping.
Vice Chancellor Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal welcomed Governor Anandiben Patel, Special Guest Former Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan, Rajya Sabha MP Laxmikant Vajpayee and Chancellor Dr. Stuti Narayan Kakkar by presenting them plants.
The convocation was inaugurated by Chief Guest Her Excellency Governor Anandiben Patel, Special Guest Former Chief Justice of India Shri K.G. Balakrishnan, Rajya Sabha MP Laxmikant Vajpayee, Chancellor Smt. Stuti Narayan Kakkar, Vice Chancellor Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shalya Raj, Vice Chancellor Dr. Himanshu Airan and Registrar M. Yakub under the Jal Bharo program, spreading awareness about water conservation.
During this, the national anthem and the university anthem were sung. Also, a song was presented for water conservation awareness. Chancellor Stuti Narayan Kakkar declared the convocation open.
Guest of honour, former Chief Justice of India, K.G. Balakrishnan said that it is a joyous occasion for the students that they are receiving degrees and medals in the convocation. He said that Swami Vivekananda Subharti University has provided high quality education and has worked to develop its students through collaboration with prestigious national and international institutions.
Chief Guest Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel congratulated all the meritorious students. She said that students should set their goals and work hard with concentration, this will definitely lead to success. She said that the convocation reflects the hard work and dedication of the students along with the academic excellence of the university. I am confident that the university will enable the youth to face the challenges of a knowledge-based society, so that they can prepare as an enlightened citizen while contributing to nation building. She paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda ji. She said that inspiration should be taken from all great men including Swami Vivekananda ji. She said that a bridge should be built between the university and Anganwadi so that every person of the society can connect with the mainstream. She praised the establishment of various colleges, departments and roads of Subharti University in the name of various great men and the establishment of Shaheed Smarak. She said that the work of Subharti University is very effective. She said that I hope that Subharti University becomes a centre of education and works in nation building.
