Chandigarh: After the assurance of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Chief Medical Services Association (PCMSA) has announced that it will open OPDs from 11 to 2 pm today only.  Let us tell you that PCMSA has a meeting with the Punjab government today and if no solution is found then extensive steps will be taken by the PCMSA.

Yesterday, the Punjab Civil Medical Services Association decided to keep the OPD closed for the whole day today. Earlier OPDs were shut partially but after receiving no written assurance from the Punjab Government, PCMSA decided to intensify their protest and announced complete suspension of the OPDs.  Today is the third day of OPD closure.

PCMSA after meeting with the Sub-Committee was assured that an official letter would be issued by the government assuring fulfillment of their demands but after getting no official written the association closed the OPD for the whole day.

Amid the suspension of OPD services by 2,500 doctors, the Punjab government on Friday also called in experts from the medical education department. Experts were called to manage the OPD services in the district and sub-divisional hospitals amid the ongoing strike.
