Chandigarh: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of the state Gurmeet Singh Khudian handed over appointment letters to 30 heirs of martyred farmers. These are the farmers who lost their lives during the farmers’ protest against three farm laws. Today, 25 have received appointment letters as clerks and five as attendants in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.
Apart from these, two veterinary inspectors and four clerks in the animal husbandry department, out of which three clerks have got jobs on compassionate grounds, and two stenographers in the dairy development department have been given appointment letters.
S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian congratulated the newly appointed employees and encouraged them to work with integrity for the development of Punjab and providing services to the people of the state in a transparent and smooth manner.
He said that the Punjab government has provided 44,974 government jobs in various departments to the youth of the state so far. He said that this recruitment has been done on the basis of pure merit in a transparent manner.
