Ladowal Toll Plaza becomes ‘Free’ for commuters from today after workers’ decision, Read to know why

While chairing the meeting, Punjab Chief Darshan Singh Ladi said that the demands of the workers have not been met for a long time.

Ludhiana: Punjab’s most expensive toll plaza is once again free for people from today. This means that people will not have to pay anything to pass through there. This decision was taken in the meeting of the officials of Toll Plaza Workers Union Punjab. While chairing the meeting, Punjab Chief Darshan Singh Ladi said that the demands of the workers have not been met for a long time. Due to this, the decision to shout toll plaza has been taken.

Darshan Singh said that for many months meetings were being held with the company officials regarding their demands, but till date their demands have not been met.  Toll Plaza Workers Union Punjab has announced that from September 27, i.e. from today  Ladowal toll plaza will be closed indefinitely and no toll will be collected from any driver.

Darshan Singh Ladi said that the employees working at the toll plaza are not being given any government holiday nor is any deduction being made in their PF. He said that the said company is not providing any ESI or welfare schemes to the toll employees which is a direct violation of the rights of the employees. He said that the toll plaza will be closed until their demands are met.

Earlier too, Ladowal Toll Plaza was closed by farmers against the hiked toll fees. After the intervention of the Court, the Toll plaza was opened under heavy deployment of the police force.
