After the video of this incident surfaced, social media is quite heated. The said video has been shared by a Canadian journalist. The journalist has addressed the miscreants who did this act as Jihadis.

The video going viral is about 37 seconds long. In which two youths climbing the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh are putting the flag of Palestine on his horse. Both the youths had covered their faces and many people were standing below. Also, a person was seen tying a cloth on Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s horse.

Many people have also made a video of the entire incident. The whole matter has been informed to the Peel Police of Canada. Now it is being investigated by the Canadian police. At present, no statement has been issued in the matter.

This incident has generated outrage and anger among people. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, is often referred to as the ‘Lion of Punjab. He was the founder and first ruler of the Sikh Empire, which he established in the early 19th century. This incident has hurt the sentiments of Punjabis and Sikhs and the Sikh community has written to the Mayor Carolyn Parrishbringing his attention to this matter.
