Kapurthala: In a tragic incident, A youth from Kapurthala district died of a heart attack in California, USA. The family was left devastated after they received information about the incident. The family has started efforts to bring the body of the deceased back to Punjab for the last rites. The deceased was 32 years old and identified as Gurjeet Singh, son of Gurdev Singh. He was resident of the village Kuka Talwandi, Kapurthala.
While talking to the media, Gurjeet’s uncle said that his nephew Gurjeet Singh lived in California, USA. His uncle added that Gurjeet was to come back days after as he was set to get married on October 18.
The uncle said that he was packing his luggage and preparing to catch a flight to Punjab tomorrow. As per the information, Gurjeet went to pay obeisance at Gurudwara Sahib before taking flight where he suffered a heart attack.
When he was taken to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead. The deceased’s uncle Harjinder said that preparations for his marriage were going on at home and now the wedding festivities have turned into mourning.
