Farmers call of ‘Rail Roko’ for 2 hours across state today

Trains will be stopped from 12:30 am to 2:30 pm. A program has been prepared to stop trains at 35 places in 22 districts of the state. The program to stop trains will run under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha non-political and Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan. In such a situation, people traveling by train may have to face problems. During this time, Chandigarh, Ambala, Amritsar, and Jammu routes will be affected. Earlier call of nationwide rail roko was given by Punjab farmers.

Trains will also be stopped near the Shambhu border

Full preparations have been made by the farmers to stop the trains today for 2 hours. During this time, farmers will also hold a rail roko movement at the Shambhu border. The main demands of the farmers include justice in the case of the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, MSP guarantee law, loan waiver for farmer-laborer. Farmers said that their demands are justified.

This is the third time this year that the farmers are blocking the rail tracks. Earlier, the farmers had blocked the rail tracks for the first time on February 15 in Amritsar. On April 16, the protest started on the Shambhu track, which lasted for about 34 days. This is the third time that the farmers have decided to protest.

Today, Phillaur, Lohian in Jalandhar, Mananwala in Amritsar, three places in Ferozepur, Fatehgarh railway station, Gurdaspur Batala station, Hoshiapur, Dasuha, Mukerian Garhshankar, Kapurthala Sultanpur Lodhi, Ludhiana Samrala, Khanna railway tracks will be affected. Apart from this, there will be a sit-in at two places in Ropar, Dhuri of Sangrur, Tarn Taran, Barnala station, and Malerkotla.
