New Delhi: BJP MP from Mandi and Actress Kangana Ranaut is once again embroiled in controversy for her statements. This time her post on social media paying tributes to Former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri has brought her into headlines which stirred up a new controversy.

Two iconic personalities of Indian Politics, Mahatma Gandhi who is known as the Father of the nation, and Lal Bahadur Shastri, who served as the second Prime Minister of India and gave slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ share birthday on October 2nd.

Yesterday, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut paid tributes and posted a story on her social media handle. What grabbed attention was Kangana saying, “Desh ke pita nahi, desh ke to lal hote hai” (The country doesn’t have fathers, it has sons) which led to a row in no time. The opposition has been targeting that with her post, Kanagan tried to downplay the prominence of Mahatma Gandhi.

It is not for the first time that Kangana has made it to headlines by giving controversial statements. Earlier she gave a controversial statement on farmers and their protest. Later she commented on the three repealed farm laws and now the BJP MP made another controversy by creating a divide between Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Not just the opposition, even BJP leaders are also trying to distance themselves from Kangana’s controversial statement. In a video message BJP Senior leader from Punjab, Manoranjan Kalia said that she has a habit of giving controversial statements. He even said, “It’s better she should pursue her film career as Politics is not her capacity“.
