Major accident during Nagar Kirtan in Moga; 2 died, 7 injured

Moga police are now investigating the matter.

Moga: A major accident occurred during Nagar Kirtan (Religious procession) in Kot Sadar Khan village in Moga, Punjab in which two devotees died. The bus carrying the Palki Sahib of Shri Guru Granth Sahib touched the high-tension wires and got electrocuted.  Two people died and seven were injured in this mishap. Moga police are now investigating the matter.

The injured have been admitted to a private hospital where they are undergoing treatment. The relatives of the patients admitted in the private hospital of  told that Gurudwara Akalgarh Sahib is located in the village and Nagar Kirtan was organized here today by the management committee.

According to the information received, the said Nagar Kirtan was held yesterday i.e. on Friday. The holy palanquin was decorated on the bus. As soon as the Nagar Kirtan reached the middle of the village, the upper pillars of Palki Sahib came in contact with the high-tension wires. Due to this the bus got electrocuted.

There was chaos due to the electrocution in the bus. Seven people have been injured in this accident. They have been identified as Harjinder Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur, Surjit Singh, Kuldeep Kaur, Joginder Kaur, Manjit Kaur and Raj Kaur.
