Earlier that day, during a joint patrol on the Ring Road in Gharota, police and army personnel identified a suspicious object that appeared to be an explosive. The police subsequently called in a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team, cordoned off the area, and diverted traffic.

The suspected explosives were later disposed of safely. Rural Jammu SP Brijesh Sharma stated, “During our joint patrol with the Army, we encountered a suspicious object in Gharota. We coordinated with the BDS team to dispose of it.”
