Punjab Government declares holiday in state on October 15, Read to know why

As per orders, Government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions located at Chandigarh and Punjab state will remain close. 

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has declared a gazetted holiday in Punjab state and Chandigarh on October 15, 2024 (Tuesday). The holiday has been declared in view of the general elections of Gram Panchayats. On October 15, Panchayat elections will be held across the state and thus government has declared October 15 as holiday.

The circular issued by Punjab Government read, “It is hereby notified that the date 15-10-2024 (Tuesday) is declared a gazetted holiday in the State of Punjab in view of General Elections to Gram Panchayats 2024. This holiday is also declared for all Government Offices/Boards/Corporations/Educational Institutions located at Chandigarh, Punjab State. This holiday is also declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act-1881.”
