Amritsar: In a major blow to illegal arms smuggling from Madhya Pradesh, Amritsar Rural Police led two separate operations and arrested 3 accused for smuggling illegal weapons in Punjab. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

Illegal arms were smuggled from Madhya Pradesh and were brought to Punjab. Amritsar Rural Police in two different operations apprehended 3 persons. As per the Police, the arrested accused used to provide logical assistance to criminal gangs.
Polioce in two separate search operations also recovered cache of arms and ammunition. Police recovered 8 pistols along with 17 live cartridges and 4 magazines.
DGP Yadav further noted that Punjab Police will take stern action against organised crime & illegal weapon smuggling networks and is working to uncover the entire network, following both forward and backward linkages.
